Build A Bear

Thank you to our wonderful neighbors who gave my kiddos gift certificates to Build a bear! We had so much fun picking out the animals, stuffing them, and dressing them. I am so grateful we had this opportunity. I loved every minute of it. As did my children. (I wish they would have had something like this when I was growing up. All of my stuffed animals had names, and spouses! Some of them didn't get along with one another, so I had to separate them. They also came alive at night. Hee hee! I know, I know.... to much information.) But the whole experience was so fun. Bud picked a camouflage bear, and dressed him in Darth Vador gear. Pinkie picked a pink bear and dressed her in sleeping beauty attire. Bud's bear guards his door at night. Pinkie's bear sleeps with her. So great!

5 Question Friday

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting? No.

2. What temperature do you keep your house? 72 degrees in the winter, 74 in the summer

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes? No. I am not a fan of dusting so it is the last thing I notice in someones house.

4. What's the worst job you ever had? House keeper. It was the first job I ever had. She paid me by buying me a porcelain doll. Looking back I loved the idea, but hated the work.

5. What is your most sentimental possession? I have several. I am a sentimental fool. I hang on to clothes for sentimental value. I have a shirt of my Grandpas. I have the shirt I wore on my first date with Rocky. I have my wedding dress and shoes. I have the outfits I brought my babies home from the hospital in. This is just to name a few. Hee hee!

Play along!

Scroll Down

Scroll down.... all the way down to the bottom of our blog. Here you will find our adoption timeline. I would like to draw your attention to the faces of those cute little people. Look at the husband's face. He is smiling, and ever so lovingly holding his wife's hand. Then look at the wife's face. HA! She looks like she has had one too many late nights with tear filled eyes. It kind of looks like hubby is helping her walk. I again think this is funny. Those who know me, know we have had nights like that. That first year of waiting, those nights were at least once a week. Now, only every 3 months or so. We are not saying we don't care, we are just saying that with time comes peace. We have waited a long time for adoption to happen for us. We so grateful for our 2 children. We have been so blessed over the years. Yes, there are still days where my faith is weak, but overall, I know this will happen. I know my Father in Heaven loves me, and knows every desire in my heart.

Adoption

Every once in a while I will blog about adoption. Lately there have been so many negative views on adoption, I thought I would shed a bit of humor on it.

When our adoption journey began we were interviewed by our agency as a couple and then separately. It was in my individual interview that I really put my foot in my mouth. Our caseworker was asking me about college. I told her I went to college to become an elementary school teacher, but changed my mind during school. When she asked what made me change my mind, this was my reply... "I don't like other people's kids." My mouth then hung open, and I started back pedaling to explain that teaching school felt more like a daycare to me, than actual teaching. She replied, "This is a first for me. I have never heard that in an adoption interview before." Then we both started laughing. I took a breath before answering any more of her questions. At the time I was mortified, and when the interview was over I cried all the way home. But now, HA! It is hilarious!
